As a taster of our new topic, we spent the morning involved in different learning experiences. We tried Ancient Egyptian food, discovered artefacts in an Egyptian tomb, made canopic jars out of clay and played gods and goddesses Top Trumps. Today we have been busy constructing our earthquake proof buildings. They must be at least 36cm tall, have two storeys, be able to support a 250g weight, be able to withstand an earthquake (or at least us shaking a table) and be constructed from only straws and masking tape!
